The Tree Of Baba Yaga

1991
pen & ink, watercolor
8" x 10"

This is a drawing of the tree that guards the hut of Baba Yaga. I had a lot of fun anthropomorphising the tree. His face isn’t based on anyone I know, but I’ll bet I was looking at a lot of Arthur Rackham at the time. Later on, I would make a phony woodcut version of the tree.
