The Hut of Baba Yaga

1992
acrylic micropoint
30" x 40"

This is the hut of the witch Baba Yaga. It walks round and round on chicken legs awaiting the arrival of Baba Yaga from her hunting. Strown around the ground are the bones of her victims, The larger bones make up her fence. The yard is guarded by a large tree.

This micropoint painting was done using an atomizer. As you can see, it’s much grainier than one done with an airbrush.

Below is an enlargement of the skull in the right center of the painting. You’ll see it’s more apparent that only 3 colors were used. Your eye mixes them in your head and you think you see greens and browns. But it’s really just sprayed dots of yellow, magenta, and cyan.
