Irish Sheep

2001
acrylic micropoint
26" x 22"

This is a painting I did based on photos I took from our trip to Ireland. In case you’re wondering why there’s red on the rears of the sheep, that’s how I saw them in the fields. It’s not blood. I think it’s painted onto them by the sheep’s owners to either show who they belong to or maybe to mark them for sheering.

Check out its different stages of completion to see how it was painted.
