What Bomb?
1988
etching
30" x 40"
I did this painting specifically for the first Micropointillism show at the Michigan Gallery. I was at Stephen Goodfellows old studio looking out one day and saw this abandoned building with the back wall completely missing next to a top half of a house with no bottom to it. I was intrigued to see a sofa seat still on the top floor.
The final painting is the scene I saw, except I added a person watching TV in that room. I also removed a lot of buildings in the background. I wanted to convey someone oblivious to the real world crashing into ruins around him.
