3 Stages of Wood 2008 The second painting I did for a fall triptych. I painted the 3 of them in a weekend spent at my in-law's summer place in the thumb area of Michigan, spending no more than 3 hours on each one and using the same color palette. While burning leaves a couple days before, I was inspired to do this painting. I was also thinking of the 3 stages of man series that Caspar David Friedrich used to paint. |
