Phony Woodcuts
This is a technique I use to simulate woodcuts without having to actually carve one. They work great for quick illustrations.
Basically, I use a black marker or ink on paper in the areas I want to look white on the finished image. The areas I want black, I leave the paper white. After Im done making all my marks, I reverse the image and it looks like a woodcut. I try not to color all the areas to be solid white to simulate cut marks.
