The Old Barn 2011 My first horizontal woodcut in years, it's based on an old barn I saw in the thumb area of the lower peninsula of Michigan. I cut it from basswood with the grain going with the width, rather than the length as is usually done. I hand printed it in black ink on kitakata rice paper., which picked up a lot of the nice grain of the basswood. |
