Fall's Collage

It was a gorgeous sunny October Saturday and I got some time to paint. Since I started out a bit later than I would have liked, I stuck to a location close to home. I drove by my usual favorite spots and came across this lovely birch tree on the side of the Royal Oak High School.

I returned to my knives because I wanted to make this plein air a looser, more abstracted painting. It was a lot of fun to paint and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. When I looked at it at home, it felt almost like I created it with collage. That gave me the idea for its title.

This was painted on a homemade MDF panel and ships unframed. Shipping is free in the continental U.S.
